Hi boys and girls. What is this? This is a heart. And what do hearts represent? We probably usually think of love. Now, is there somebody that you love? Maybe a family member? A friend? I hope you love Jesus.

Now, have you ever had somebody say something to you or do something to you that was not really nice? Or maybe have you ever been left out of a game? How did that feel? Maybe it felt kind of lonely.

Or maybe have you ever done something that you probably shouldn't have? Maybe said something you shouldn't have? And sometimes these things can be very, very hurtful. You can get, you know, a cut on your arm and you can see it, but sometimes we can be hurt on the inside where it's not even seen.

And sometimes our hearts, they get ripped apart. Oh no, look what happened to my heart. Sometimes life can feel like this. When we're sad, maybe when we're disappointed, or maybe even upset sometimes. Or when we do something that we shouldn't have, sometimes it hurts our hearts because we feel bad.

Now, should I just continue to rip these pieces apart? Or should I just throw them away? No. You know, God can do wonderful, amazing things. So I can take these two pieces, this heart, and I can take some glue, and I can bind them together.

Now, the Psalmist writes that God can bring a broken heart together, bind it together, bring it together, and heal it. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to take on the edge just like this. I'm going to glue it and try to bind it together. But I'm going to do it on the backside. So you may not be able to see it. And hopefully we'll do the best to bring it back together. And voila! My heart is brought back together.

So the glue binds these two pieces together and it's wonderful. It can be, you know, you can hear good news that Jesus does not leave us brokenhearted. So even perhaps maybe when we're by ourselves, maybe we feel lonely, Jesus is still there. Have you ever done something really bad? Guess what? Jesus is a loving, forgiving God. Jesus doesn't leave us brokenhearted.

And so, yeah, maybe sometimes we might feel lonely, but Jesus is there with us. And yet as well, this heart, though, is it perfectly put back together? I tried to do it as best as I can. Sometimes, though, even when our heart has been healed back together, it's not perfect because sometimes we can remember hard things. That's why we go to Jesus to remember his forgiveness, his goodness.

So as the psalmist once wrote, he heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds or heals their wounds. So remember when you're sad, maybe when you're feeling upset, maybe when you're feeling lonely, maybe you're feeling bad or even mad, give it to Jesus because Jesus loves.

Let's pray. Dear Jesus, thank you that you're always with us in the good times and sometimes even when we're feeling sad, maybe when we're feeling lonely or even left out. We know that we can always go to you. Lord, help us to have courage. If we've done something bad, help us, Lord, to go and apologize. And if somebody has hurt us, help us, Lord, to have the courage to forgive.

Be with all of our children. Be with all of our families as well as they continue to raise them, lead and guide them. Thank you for each and every one of our children. In Jesus' name, amen.

Take care, boys and girls.
