Happy Sabbath, boys and girls. It's my opportunity once again to bring you the story this morning. Now we're in September and in my school we're celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month. Now I don't know if some of you are wearing your beautiful shirts or dresses or outfits to school, but that's what we've been celebrating and reminding me of this book, I Promise by LeBron James that talks about things that we can do every day at our schools to make us better.

It says, I promise to work hard and do what is right, to be a leader in the game of life. I promise to go to school and read as much as I can and follow the rules and respect the game plan. I promise to run full court, to show up each time, to get back up and let my magic shine. I promise to open and try to be open and try new things and enjoy the happy that change can bring.

I promise to wear a big smile and use kindness when I speak to remain strong, yet humble with every win and defeat. I promise to ask for help whenever I need it, to reach for the stars even when I can't see them. I promise to ask questions and find answers, to believe in the next time and second chances. I promise to use my voice and stand up for what's right. And when things get tough, to get up to fight.

I promise to respect my elders and peers the same, to leave new places better than I came. I promise to stay true, keep my head up and never give up no matter what. I promise to dream big and love bigger, to be a team player and a winner. I promise to cross bridges and break down walls, to rise with the sun and learn from the falls. I promise to be courageous, to be free, to strive for greatness. I promise to be me.

Boys and girls, and this is all Jesus ever wants us to do, to be who you are. And if you can share what you learned, what he has done in your life, and how we always have a smile, and no matter we fall down, we get up, and we still keep going. We should be the light. We should be the example, and you should promise to always do your best.

Hey, let's bow our heads, boys and girls. Dear Heavenly Father, we thank you, dear Lord, for another day of life. Thank you, dear Lord, for being an awesome God and sending us to this world. Allow us to share more of who you are with our friends and our families. Help us to always shine like a star wherever we are at. For we pray in Jesus' name, amen.  Bye, boys and girls. Till next time.
