I Just Can't Do It
I Just Can't Do It
Bill Aumack
Morning boys and girls. How are doing today?
You know, haven't you ever wanted to make a sandwich or have some food or something, but you were stymied by being able to open the jar. You know, maybe you wanted to make a peanut butter and jelly, and so you've got the jelly jar, but you just you can't open it. It's just too hard. It won't open and you don't know what to do. You're just this close to a peanut butter and jelly, but this little lid just can't, you can't get in.
I know that I like these green olives with the little red pimentos. Oh, they are so yummy. But sometimes, I don't know, a robot must put these lids on, because I just can't get into it, and it's so hard to get open.
And so there's things you can do to try and get some help. One of those is these little rubber, trying to move that so it shows up, these little rubber things, and you put them on the top. and they help you get a good grip so your hand just doesn't slip. then you're trying to get, and sometimes it's still too hard and you can't get in.
And then you can up your game again. You get one of these little handle thingies and they go on the top of the lid and you've got to fight with them. They don't always work right. And you're trying to get it in there and you can use that to try and open your lid. but it only works really good on small lids. So maybe if you got like your jelly lid, you know, you can try and open it, but it's hard.
Sometimes you just have to go get help. You gotta go talk to mom and dad and ask them to help you open it. Get somebody that's bigger and stronger and get some help.
And sometimes the same thing is true in our life. We need help and we just have to go ask Jesus. Now, if you go to mom and dad and say, wanna make a peanut butter sandwich and I can't open the jar, they help you open the jar. When you go to Jesus and you ask for help, He gives you help. Now, it's not always what we want sometimes, because sometimes Jesus has a plan for us. And maybe that means we don't always get what we want.
Take the story of Joseph, for example. You know the story of Joseph. His brothers sold him into slavery, and he got taken away to Egypt, was a slave in Egypt, and then he got thrown in jail. And I bet Joseph prayed a lot of times. God, why is this happening to me? And then one day, because Joseph was in the right place at the right time, he was able to save Egypt, and his family and a lot of other people around from a big famine that was coming because God had him in the right place at the right time. So God doesn't always just swoop in and open every jar for us, but he's there, he's listening, and he answers our prayers.
And so when you get stuck, When you don't know what to do, pray to God. But understand that sometimes his answer is gonna be maybe different than the answer you have in mind. And usually that's a good thing.
All right, you guys have been good listeners. Hope you have a good rest of the Sabbath. We'll see you next time.
