Help for Church Webmasters
Issue 24
8/13/03
It’s been a while since you’ve heard from me. I had good
intentions, but with summer vacation and all – well let’s just say something
always seemed to come up. Sorry about that, but a summer vacation is good for
the soul.
Also, you may have noticed that this email is being
delivered to you a little bit differently. I finally got around to setting up
the mail server. You can subscribe to this list by sending an email to helpforwebmasters-subscribe@downeychurch.org.
You can unsubscribe by sending an email to helpforwebmasters-off@downeychurch.org.
I have taken the liberty of subscribing everyone who was on my previous mailing
list (wow, that list was getting long!!).
I will probably be sending out one more message to the mailing list,
just to make sure people are getting this. After that, we will be using this mailing
list.
Now, down the reason for this email, using tables for
designing your website. Tables are a very important method for laying out your
website. Tables are one of the few methods for controlling the layout of items
on your website and certainly the easiest to master.
I had started writing a whole tutorial on using tables, then
I found this site - http://www.smartwebby.com/web_site_design/table_tricks.asp.
Hey, there ain’t no reason for re-inventing the wheel. So enjoy this site. Make
use of the provided code samples and learn how you can make a very cool website
by using a very basic tool, a table.
See ya,
Bill
